Hello, this is Lislab.
Momotaro Jeans lives by the slogan, "Made by hand without compromise." This relentless commitment is woven into every stage of their production. Their most striking signature is undoubtedly the 'Tokunou' (Special Deep Blue) Indigo—an indigo so rich and dark it's almost black, defining the brand's unique identity.
While Momotaro shares the use of premium Zimbabwe cotton with Fullcount, they take a different path. Unlike Fullcount’s focus on immediate comfort, Momotaro is renowned for its unparalleled color depth and uncompromising durability. It successfully balances two contradictory traits: comfort and ruggedness.
I still remember the first time I put these on three years ago. I thought, "Wait, how can a fabric this heavy feel this comfortable?" I was immediately captivated by the secure, structured fit that didn't sacrifice mobility. Today, I’m sharing the detailed aging data of my Momotaro 0605 after three years of "battle-worn" experience.

01. Product Details
"15.7oz Heavyweight meets Pink Accents"
- Fit: Natural Tapered - Roomy in the thighs with a modern taper towards the hem
- Condition: 3 Years of wear / Multi-washed (Once a month)
- Features: The transition from the world's deepest indigo to a clear, vibrant mid-blue
- 15.7oz Sanforized & One-Wash
- 100% Zimbabwe Cotton – Renowned for its long-staple softness and durability
- 'Goint to Battle' (GTB) stripes, Peach (Momo) Selvedge, Pink inseam stitch, Cowhide leather patch
The 15.7oz weight provides a sense of density that screams reliability—you just know these jeans won't fail you. Yet, the long-staple Zimbabwe cotton ensures a surprising level of flexibility.
The contrast between the rugged slubby texture and the delicate Pink Selvedge ID is the "hidden charm" of this otherwise stoic pair. The cowhide patch, once a pale peach, has matured into a deep tan, echoing the three years of history we've shared.
Every detail, from the silver buttons embossed with the peach icon to the hidden rivets, showcases Momotaro’s obsession with craftsmanship.
The pink inseam stitch adds a subtle pop of color to the deep indigo sea.
02. Sizing
"The Flexibility of Zimbabwe Cotton within the Stiffness"
<Momotaro Jeans 0605 Size Chart (One-Wash)>
* This data is a recompiled average by Lislab, based on Momotaro official guides and measurement data from global premium denim retailers. Please note that raw denim may have slight individual variations; use these figures as a reference point for your size selection.
Momotaro aims for a consistent, "perfect fit." Most of their export models are Sanforized and One-Wash, meaning the initial shrinkage is minimal.
However, due to the 15.7oz weight, sizing requires care. I recommend True to Size (TTS) for a snug fit or sizing up by one for a slightly more relaxed silhouette. I chose size 31, and even with some shrinkage over time, it maintains a silhouette that perfectly remembers my body's curves.
03. 3-Year Aging Data
"The Magic of Deep Indigo turning into Bright Blue"
Here is the data transition after three years of heavy use:
- Waist: 41.5cm > 39.5cm (2cm decrease)
- Front Rise: 28.5cm > 25.5cm (3cm decrease)
While Sanforized denim usually resists shrinking, the cumulative effect of three years of washing and occasional tumble drying has led to a "Fabric Contraction" of about 2–3cm. Currently, the waist fits perfectly, maintaining a clean, sharp line.
Despite being "abused" as a daily driver, the fabric's elasticity remains intact. It’s still my most trusted pair—providing a "sturdy armor" feel that I rely on.
Because Momotaro uses the world's highest concentration of indigo, the fading process is notoriously slow. After countless wears, the base color remains surprisingly dark. It’s only now reaching the "Bright Mid-Blue" stage.
However, the wait was worth it. The sharp contrast of the Train Track Fading along the outseam and the Atari (frictional fading) on the hem are like badges of honor earned through patience.
Closing: The Ultimate Partner for the Long Haul
The Momotaro 0605 is a pair built on trust. It feels like a partner that protects and stays comfortable in any situation.
Looking at this pair after three years—still sturdy, still radiating a clear blue light—I’m reminded again that time is the ultimate judge of quality. If you want the durability of reproduction denim, the depth of 'Tokunou' indigo, and a modern silhouette, the Momotaro 0605 is your definitive answer.
Thank you for reading this long journey.
Sincerely, Lislab
