[Review] SSC Napoli 22/23 Season Home Kim Min-jae Jersey: The Iconic No. 3 Blue Shirt That Won the Scudetto After 33 Years

Hello, this is Lislab . In Napoli, a passionate football city in southern Italy, there has long been one monumental name echoing as a legend: the iconic Diego Maradona. Ever since his era, Napoli had gone 33 long years without claiming the Italian league title (Scudetto), facing heartbreak time and time again. Then came South Korean defender Kim Min-jae. After playing in South Korea, China, and Turkey, he made his debut in Italy’s Serie A, completely dominating Napoli’s defense during the 22/23 season. Dubbed the "Korean Monster," he sparked an unforgettable turnaround. Dominating opposition attackers with his overwhelming physicality, impressive speed, and rock-solid defensive skills, Kim earned the Serie A Best Defender award and conquered the league. He anchored the squad to a miraculous season, ending a 33-year title drought. Today, I’m excited to introduce the shirt that shared every moment of that glorious journey: the SSC Napoli 22/23 Home Kit with Kim Min-jae No. 3...

[Review] Casio Databank DBC-611G Gold Watch: The Tech Tool Watch Before the Smartwatch Era

Hello, this is Lislab.

We live in an era overflowing with smartphones and cutting-edge digital gadgets, yet the charm of a compact tool watch that silently holds its ground on the wrist remains as undeniable as ever.

Long before smartwatches dominated the market, CASIO was the pioneer that redefined the watch not just as a timekeeper, but as a "wearable information device," leading the golden age of technology in the 1980s. The Databank series, which Casio ambitiously introduced at the time, was far more than a simple wristwatch. It was a combination of a notepad and a calculator—the most innovative "wearable smart device" of its era and a true dream for early adopters.

The watch I am introducing today is the Casio Databank DBC-611G Gold, a model that represents the pinnacle of Casio's digital engineering and retro aesthetics.

Personally, this Databank holds a very special place in my heart, carrying fond memories of my school days. From my childhood longing to its current role as my daily beater watch as an adult, I am excited to share the true value and functional details of this timepiece with you.

While standard classic Casio lineups focus purely on the 1980s retro vibe, this Databank model fully reveals the distinct identity of its lineage through the mechanical-style membrane keypad filling the lower half of the case.

Back in my school days, many of my peers used to wear this Databank watch. To my young eyes, the unique design and packed buttons looked incredibly futuristic and cool. It was quite a hefty price tag for a student's allowance back then, making it an eternal object of envy. Although the flashy gold model completely captured my heart, I had to compromise and settle for the silver model, which was a few dollars cheaper, and wore it throughout my entire school years.

Perhaps because of that lingering longing from my youth, once I became an adult with my own purchasing power, I immediately flexed and bought the gold model I had always dreamed of. It felt as though I had finally filled a void from my childhood. At first, the gold color felt a bit tricky to style, so it sat in my watch box for quite a while.

However, since I recently picked up the Casio ABL-100WE Bluetooth model and started rotating between the two, it has revived as my most dependable daily tool watch.

Because of its highly eye-catching design, it was always the prime target for confiscation by teachers during exam periods, even though I wore it to school every other day without any issues. While the front keys might look like a quirky, aesthetic design element at a glance, the 8-digit calculator function actually works remarkably well with surprising accuracy and practicality.

Additionally, the Telememo feature capable of storing up to 25 phone numbers and the Dual Time mode clearly showcase the identity of a wearable tool watch established by Casio long before the modern smartphone era.

02. Size & Features

"A Long Square Body with Feathery Lightness"

The case dimensions are approximately 33mm in width, 46.5mm in length, and 8.7mm in thickness, making it remarkably slim and light. By dividing the front face into two equal halves—the LCD screen on top and the keypad below—it creates a uniquely elongated, slightly angled rectangular silhouette compared to typical square watches.

Packing a complex multi-functional keypad into a frame under 9mm thick is a testament to Casio's incredible manufacturing engineering that never ceases to amaze.

Constructed with a subtle champagne-gold plating over a lightweight plastic resin case, it offers an incredibly light and nimble wearing experience despite the metal strap. This feathery weight stands in complete contrast to the visual heaviness of the gold hue, reducing wrist fatigue to absolute zero even during long hours of daily wear.

The strap adjustments utilize Casio's traditional sliding buckle mechanism. Without needing to visit a watchmaker, you can easily release the buckle lock using a pen or any sharp tool, shift it to match your wrist circumference, and lock it back down instantly.

Pressing the light button on the top right illuminates the dial with a classic amber LED glow from the bottom-left corner for about two seconds. It completely preserves the analog legibility and distinct romantic mood of yesteryears, offering a beautiful contrast to the piercingly bright displays of modern smart devices.

In terms of water resistance, it meets the standard rating for daily life, meaning it handles handwashing or running into a light drizzle during your daily routine with absolute, rugged ease.

03. Style

"The Unique Wit and Mood of Gold"

The overall champagne-gold tone paired with the meticulous layout of the front keypad commands a highly unique presence on the wrist. While the first impression might lean towards looking slightly old-school or loud, tossing this piece over a clean, neutral-toned outfit immediately neutralizes the weight of the gold. Instead, it adds a witty and tasteful layer of vintage contrast.

Being such a statement piece, it plays its role perfectly by anchoring the focus of your entire outfit directly onto your wrist without needing any other accessories.

This piece stands in complete opposition to my other favorite daily tool watch, the Casio ABL-100WE Bluetooth. While the ABL-100WE delivers modern convenience by packing seamless smartphone synchronization under a vintage shell, this Databank completely detaches itself from the constant interruptions of smart technology, allowing you to focus entirely on its pure technical specs and nostalgia.

Lately, I am thoroughly enjoying the morning ritual of choosing between these two distinct Casio companions based on my mood and outfit before leaving the house.

Closing: The Icon of Retro Tech Over Time

The Casio Databank DBC-611G goes beyond being a simple wristwatch; for me, it serves as a personal time machine that finally satisfied a longing from my childhood days.

Now that wearable gadgets have fully integrated into our lives, Casio’s stubborn persistence in preserving this 1980s high-tech design feels incredibly refreshing and tasteful to those who yearn for retro sentiments and analog aesthetics.

Free from the constant anxiety of battery drainage and endless notifications, this reliable tool watch offers a distinct retro-futuristic charm. For anyone looking to add a subtle gold accent filled with heritage to their wrist, I am certain this piece will become an irresistible choice.

Thank you for reading this long journey.

Sincerely, Lislab
