[Review] Warehouse 1105 2nd-Hand Selvedge 'Medium Used Wash': The Perfection of Vintage Reproduction

Hello, this is Lislab.

Warehouse is known as one of the "Osaka Five" brands in Japan and is widely regarded as the pinnacle of vintage reproduction. Their 2nd-Hand line is famous for offering comfort and artistic washing details that are on a completely different level from raw denim.

Following my previous post on the Warehouse 2nd-Hand 1101 'Light Used Wash' (the 1960s 501 reproduction), today I am introducing the Warehouse 2nd-Hand 1105 'Medium Used Wash'. This model is often praised as the "most modern and sophisticated silhouette" in the 2nd-Hand lineup.

While the 1101 is the standard for a regular straight fit, the 1105 reproduces the tapered silhouette of the late 1960s, making it a "dream fit" for both denim enthusiasts and beginners. Let’s dive into the late 60s vibes reinterpreted by Warehouse.

The Warehouse 2nd-Hand line feels familiar from the very first wear, as if you’ve spent years in them yourself.

True to their reputation as the kings of reproduction, Warehouse’s process of applying vintage washing details to each pair is legendary among enthusiasts. The way the red tab and stitching on the back pockets have naturally faded, along with the weathered paper patch and yellow selvedge, is truly impressive.

Even as a new product, the 2nd-Hand series perfectly recreates the "used" feel. By analyzing late 60s tapered-fit Levi’s archives, Warehouse artisans place rigid denim on mannequins to set the pose and implement laser washing. These meticulous vintage details showcase Warehouse’s incredible craftsmanship.

Unlike the 1101, which features a button fly, the 1105 uses a zipper fly. The vintage-style zipper and copper rivets look as if they’ve actually aged for decades.

02. Sizing

"Choosing by Wash Intensity and Cropped Length"

<Warehouse 1105 2nd-Hand 'Medium Used Wash' Size & Measurement Chart>
lislab-warehouse-1105-2nd-hand-medium-used-wash-official-size-measurement-chart-en
* Note: This chart is specific to the 'Medium Used Wash'. Measurements for Dark or Light washes may vary. Data is a recompiled average by Lislab, based on Warehouse official guides and measurement data from global premium denim retailers. Please note that raw denim may have slight individual variations; use these figures as a reference point for your size selection.

The 2nd Hand line is divided into three wash levels:

  • Dark Used Wash - Mid-blue (Minimal shrinkage)

  • Medium Used Wash - Mid-to-light blue (Moderate shrinkage)

  • Light Used Wash - Light blue (Maximum shrinkage due to intense processing)

Since these are heavily pre-washed and heat-dried, further shrinkage is negligible. However, the lighter the wash, the smaller the actual fit due to heat treatment. You must focus on actual measurements rather than the tag size.

ex) If your true waist is 30:

  • Dark Used Wash - Size 31 (1 size up)

  • Medium Used Wash - Size 32 (2 size up)

  • Light Used Wash - Size 33 (3 size up)

In my previous review of the 1101 Light Used Wash, do you remember I recommended sizing up by 3?

For today’s 1105 Medium Used Wash, the washing process is less intense than the Light wash, so I recommend sizing up by 2. I personally chose a size 32 (2 sizes up from my true size 30), and both the waist and length fit perfectly without any alterations.

03. Aging Data

"The Charm of the Tapered Fit and Zipper Fly"

2-Year Measurement Data (Size 32):

  • Waist: 38.5cm > 39cm (0.5cm increase)
    • Front Rise: 27cm > 27cm (No Change)

Although there was a slight variation from the initial size chart, it’s a minor difference due to individual variations or measuring techniques. Even after 2 years and one wash, the jeans have settled perfectly to my body, maintaining the original fit.

For those who found the 1101 regular fit a bit too rugged, the 1105 tapered fit offers a silhouette that complements the body beautifully. The lightweight fabric and mid-blue tones make it a versatile heritage piece, even through summer.

The 1105 features a zipper rather than buttons. Warehouse has even perfectly replicated the "zipper puckering" that occurs in vintage denim when the fabric around the zipper shrinks.

Even if you didn't create these fades yourself, the Warehouse 2nd-Hand line provides the immediate sensation of owning a long-loved pair of raw denim that has gracefully aged over time.

Closing: In Search of the Perfect Vintage Wash

Some might ask, "Why pay this price for a new pair of 'used' jeans?" But anyone who has worn the Warehouse 2nd-Hand line will stop asking that question.

The natural coloration and details—which are hard to achieve even after 5 years of breaking in raw denim—along with the "no-hem" length, offer value that goes beyond just saving time.

If you are looking for a slim silhouette, a convenient zipper fly, and a foolproof tapered fit, the Warehouse 1105 2nd-Hand is the answer.

Thank you for reading this long journey.

    Sincerely, Lislab
