[Review] Monchhichi x Tom and Jerry Keychain Review: Cute Family & Couple Item Featuring Tom, Jerry, Tuffy & Bebichhichi

Recently, while dropping off my two-year-old at daycare, I’ve noticed parents and kids wearing matching plush keychains on their bags. Seeing those cute and heartwarming matching items left a lasting impression on me.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Monchhichi’s retro charm. Fortuitously, a friend returning from Japan was able to pick up the official "Monchhichi x Tom and Jerry" collaboration keychain series for me.

Growing up with the classic Tom and Jerry cartoons, Tom always seemed like the mean cat picking on Jerry, but in reality, he was the poor guy constantly getting outsmarted. On top of that, Tuffy—the diaper-wearing baby mouse—would join in and turn Tom’s world upside down.

Tom (always getting tricked, yet impossible to hate) fits my role as the dad; Jerry (clever and running the show) perfectly matches my wife; and little Tuffy (playfully tagging along) fits our toddler son. Today, I'm excited to introduce this 3-piece keychain set that mirrors our family dynamics so perfectly!

The most unique detail of this collaboration is how the Tom and Jerry character hoods are layered over Monchhichi’s signature freckled face and chubby cheeks.



Tom’s grey fur, pointed ears, yellow eyes, and slightly pitiful expression—from constantly getting tricked—are brought to life through embroidered and layered fabric details. The neat embroidery on top of the hood keeps all the subtle features sharp and clear.









Jerry features warm brown fabric with prominent, rounded pink inner ears, creating adorable proportions. The soft look of Monchhichi blends seamlessly with Jerry’s playful charm.





Tuffy, the little baby mouse, is cleverly crafted using 'Bebichhichi'—the baby line of the Monchhichi family—rather than a standard Monchhichi. This attention to lore makes the detail even more charming!

Unlike Tom and Jerry, Tuffy features Bebichhichi's signature round, starry eyes and delicate features, adding a whole new level of cuteness in person.

He wears a light-grey mouse hood along with his signature white diaper detail. Looking at him from behind, the neat diaper finish and tiny mouse tail bring a smile to your face no matter which angle you view him from.





02. Size and Capacity

"Perfect Everyday Size with Detailed Sculpting"







The overall height is around 10 cm (approx. 4 inches), making it a comfortable, everyday size. Tom is the largest, followed naturally by Jerry and Tuffy.

They aren't too small to go unnoticed, nor too bulky to get in the way when attached to a bag—just the right pocket-plush size. Each piece comes with a sturdy ball chain attached at the top, making it easy to hook onto bag handles or loops.











The head portion of both Monchhichi and Bebichhichi is made of high-quality, sturdy vinyl, bringing out their dimensional features and sharp facial details.

The fabric body feels incredibly soft, firmly stuffed to hold its shape well when squeezed. So far, I haven't noticed any fabric distortion or shedding with daily use.





03. Data & Fit

"A Touch of Wit for Family Style"







I think the true charm of character keychains shines when they're 'together'. While each plush is cute on its own, this set feels complete when Tom, Jerry, and Tuffy come together—telling a little story unique to our family. That storytelling aspect is what made me want to collect all three.







I clipped Tom to my daily work bag, attached Jerry to my wife's backpack, and hooked baby Tuffy to our son's daycare bag. Tom adds a subtle, playful twist to my otherwise plain work bag. 

Whenever the three of us walk together on the way to daycare, seeing the trio dangling from our bags brings a warm smile to my face.
