The turning point came when his son and designer, Kiro Hirata, joined the company. Under his direction, KAPITAL transformed from a traditional denim manufacturer into an unprecedented label that seamlessly blends American vintage heritage with traditional Japanese folk crafts.

• By modernizing Boro—the traditional Japanese art of patching and mending textiles—KAPITAL treats garments not as simple mass-produced items, but as wearable works of art shaped by time.
