Hello, this is Lislab.
In today’s modern society, it has become natural to record and share everything conveniently through mobile devices or tablets. However, I still cannot give up the tactile sensation of writing by hand in a physical diary. That is why my bag always carries a collection of writing instruments that accompany my thoughts and daily life.
Just as denim molds to one's body over time, writing tools are precious 'heritages' that are broken in along the trajectory of my thoughts. Today, I would like to introduce the tools I hold in my hand every single day.
01. Hermann Leather Square Pencil Case
"A leather sanctuary for writing tools that deepens with time."
The first item to introduce is the home for all these tools: the leather pencil case. I searched through countless products to find the perfect one, and I couldn't find anything with a craftsmanship and leather quality as exceptional as this.
This case makes me feel genuinely good every time I take it out of my bag. The gold-tone details and the high-quality stitch finishes by master craftsmen are remarkable. The tanning of the leather, which deepens as time passes, is a joy to witness.
02. Uni Pure Malt Multi-pen
"Combining Jetstream's smooth ink with the warmth of natural oak and the charm of aging."
This is a wood pen where you can feel the warmth of nature. It uses the famous Jetstream refills, and the grip, made of real oak wood, has the charm of aging as it absorbs the oils from my hands over time.
It is an all-around tool that I reach for first during business meetings or when managing schedules in my diary. Since this is my second time purchasing this exact model, you can tell I am deeply enamored with its charm.
03. Kurutoga Dive
"The pinnacle of engineering: no sharpening, no clicking required."
This is the ultimate masterpiece of mechanical pencils. It features a fountain-pen-style cap, an automatic lead extension function that adjusts to the user’s writing pressure, and an internal engine that rotates the lead so it never wears down on just one side. I always rely on this tool when I need to write long, neat passages.
04. Kaweco Special AL Black
"A weighted, refined grip delivered by a classic octagonal silhouette."
This mechanical pencil boasts a classic and luxurious octagonal body. It provides a stable grip similar to a traditional pencil, and the solid weight of the black aluminum body makes the writing experience incredibly satisfying. I mainly use it for transcriptions or for leaving important, formal notes.
05. Pentel Orenz Nero
"Unbreakable strength meeting the sophisticated touch of matte black."
This is Pentel's masterpiece, embodying 'unbreakable lead technology.' It features an automatic lead forwarding system that allows for continuous writing without clicking, along with a matte black finish.
The detail of being able to retract the tip to protect it is also fascinating. Regardless of personal preference in writing feel, one must acknowledge its overwhelming technological prowess. It is my most reliable ally when I need to scribble down thoughts rapidly or handle massive writing tasks.
06. Ain Eraser & Pilot Kire-na Highlighters
"Small but definitive partners that complete the recording process."
The legendary 'Ain' eraser, and the 'Kire-na' highlighters from Pilot, which breathe life into text with their soft colors. My recording process is only truly complete with these supporting players.
Closing: The Value of Tools That Embrace Time
Did you know that if you use someone else's pen instead of your own well-worn tool, even your handwriting changes?
What might be just a disposable ballpoint or pencil to some is a precious asset to me—one that embraces time and adds value. What are the 'life tools' that record and support your daily life?
I will return with more detailed individual reviews of each item introduced today. Thank you for reading this long post.
Sincerely, Lislab
